Here is presented a database of climatic relevance in order to analyze tendencies, to study specific phenomena and to validate numeric simulations.

This data has been collected from open access chilean websites (Weather Office, Water Administration, Ministry of the Environment), foreign web pages (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), measurements made by our researches, numeric simulations, among others.

(CR)2 investigators have gathered this data for research and academic purposes that not substitute original information provided by its responsible institutions.

Information has been consolidated according to three main categories:

Observational

This data corresponds to punctual or spatially distributed time series registered by in situ or remote instruments. So far, observational registers are composed by temperature and precipitation data obtained from the Weather Office (www.meteochile.gob.cl) and the Water Administration (www.dga.cl) web sites. This data has been consolidated for research and academic purposes that not substitute original information provided by these institutions.

  • Precipitation data: monthly and yearly totals in milimeters from 802 chilean stations. From january 1940 to december 2013.
  • Average temperature data: diary and monthly average temperature in Celsius degrees from 74 chilean stations. From january 1950 to december 2013.
  • Extreme temperature data: diary and monthly average temperature in Celsius degrees from 273 chilean stations. From january 1954 to december 2013.
  • Average water flow data: diary and monthly average in cubic centimeters from 716 chilean stations. From january 1940 to december 2013

Simulations

Estos datos corresponden a campos generados a través de modelos numéricos de escala global, regional y local. Hasta ahora, se tienen los datos de las simulaciones hechas con múltiples modelos acoplados bajo el marco de los ejercicios internacionales “Coupled Model Intercomparison Project” Phase 3 (CMIP3, http://www-pcmdi.llnl.gov/ipcc/about_ipcc.php) y Phase 5 (CMIP5, http://cmip-pcmdi.llnl.gov/cmip5/) y de simulaciones climáticas regionales hechas por el Departamento de Geofísica de la Universidad de Chile DGF y la Dirección Meteorológica de Chile DMC.

Emissions

Estos datos corresponden a estimaciones de emisiones de diversas especies y a escenarios atingentes a condiciones pasadas, presentes o futuras.
