Camila Álvarez-Garretón

Ingeniera hidráulica y magíster en Recursos Hídricos y Medio Ambiente de la Universidad de Chile, PhD en Hidrología de la Universidad de Melbourne, Australia. Su interés científico incluye entender y caracterizar el ciclo hidrológico, así como trabajar en equipos interdisciplinarios para cuantificar los impactos del cambio climático en la hidrología, los ecosistemas y la sociedad. Utiliza herramientas de procesamiento de datos cuantitativos y modelación hidrológica para abordar problemas complejos, incluyendo la seguridad hídrica en un contexto de cambio climático; la propagación de las sequías en el ciclo hidrológico; los impactos del clima, los usos antrópicos de agua y los cambios de usos de suelo en la provisión de agua; el uso sostenible de aguas subterráneas; y la gestión de los recursos hídricos, entre otros.
